This CD promotes the multiple intelligences approach to learning. We know children lean by
listening, seeing, and touching, but we forget that music is another way to process information.
The naturalist intelligence uses direct observation and interaction with animal and plants.
For our children to be healthy and well rounded learners they need to be given outdoor opportunities
to explore. It is in nature that we can reconnect with the sense of wonder and awe we were born with.
The variety of songs provided here are to encourage using our senses outdoors and increasing our
ability to make observations. Many songs are sung from the viewpoint of the living things. It is
my hope that these songs will encourage children of all ages to further explore their own often
magical backyards.
